Six ways to study the same course material. Start with an explanation, get help with a question, then check what you can answer without assistance.
Audio-first learning
Listen to the lesson instead of starting with a page of text. Pause, replay and change the speed. Follow the transcript, inspect a diagram or stop to answer a question without leaving the topic.
Step-by-step explanations
See each step in a worked answer and why it is needed. Ask the tutor to explain a term, show the calculation or explain the same idea another way. Then attempt a similar question yourself.
Homework support
Ask about the step you cannot complete. The tutor will help identify what the question asks, explain the relevant concept and guide your next attempt. You remain responsible for the work you submit.
Exam technique
Learn what “describe”, “explain” and “calculate” require in your subject. Practise showing working, including units, structuring written answers and allocating time. Compare your answer with reviewed marking criteria.
Practice and revision
Answer topic quizzes and exam-style questions, review mistakes and retry the method on a new question. Independent answers provide evidence of understanding; reading, listening and assisted attempts are recorded separately.
Audio, transcripts, diagrams and written explanations cover the same learning goals. Choose the format that suits your needs and switch when the task changes.

If you cannot start a homework question, get help choosing a method. If a lesson has not clicked, hear or read another explanation. Before an exam, practise answering the type of question your course assesses.

Help with homework without reteaching the course.
Give your child a place to revisit lessons, ask questions and practise independently. The content must pass subject-teacher review before pupil release, and the tutor must work within the selected course. You do not need to know the formula or marking scheme yourself.

Scottish marking criteria.
Content is being mapped to Qualifications Scotland (formerly SQA) course specifications, assessment guidance and marking instructions. Each lesson must cover the required concepts at the right depth for its subject and level.
Review checks the terminology, methods, worked answers and evidence required for marks. Exam practice must teach pupils how to demonstrate their knowledge against those requirements.
Current focus: National 5 Physics. Other subjects and Higher coverage will be confirmed only as their materials are reviewed and ready.

TEACHER REVIEW + AI SAFEGUARDS
Teacher-approved content.
Defined limits on AI.
General-purpose AI can invent a fact, make a calculation error or apply the wrong marking criteria while sounding confident. For a pupil, that can mean learning an incorrect method or rehearsing an answer that does not meet the course requirements.
Our release requirements address those risks at four points: the teaching material, the tutor’s source content, the feedback and the handling of errors. Each control must be tested before pupil access.
Teacher approval before release
A qualified subject teacher must approve the lesson, examples, answers and assessment guidance before publication. Approval applies to the reviewed version. Changed material requires renewed review; a teacher’s name on one lesson does not approve the entire course.
Tutoring tied to the course
The tutor must use the approved material for the selected subject, level and topic. When that material does not support an answer, the required response is to state the limitation and direct the pupil to a teacher—not fill the gap with a guess.
Check before giving feedback
Calculations, units and answers must be checked against the relevant rules and reviewed marking criteria. Uncertain marking goes to qualified review. An assisted answer cannot establish independent mastery.
Surface errors and stop unsafe guidance
Test the tutor with incorrect answers, misleading prompts and unsafe requests. Give pupils and reviewers a way to flag a suspect explanation. Confirmed errors require correction or withdrawal of the affected material.
Where we are today
National 5 Physics is currently in private QA. The controls above are release requirements; full-course teacher approval and pupil access are not yet in place. No AI system can guarantee error-free teaching, and approval of lesson content does not certify every live AI response.
